state of the art outpatient treatment
our out-patient treatment office is designed for patient comfort and convenience while providing the most current therapies for cancer treatment. the vast majority of treatment is received by patients in our office where staff is familiar with the patient and the patient's physician is nearby to answer any questions. our office is fully equipped with:
- osha and clia certified lab.
- a spacious chemotherapy and infusion site that is complete with television, educational videos, audio player with relaxation tapes and music, and light reading materials. family members are welcome in the suite while the patient undergoes treatment.
- extensive resource materials on a number of cancers and chemotherapy treatment.
- individualized patient education - each patient receives personal education from an oncology nurse prior to starting treatment. this instruction is supported with detailed resource materials specific to the patient's condition that they can read in the office and take home.
we at southern oncology-hematology associates are committed to initiating the most appropriate treatment strategy for each patient. after gaining a thorough understanding of the patient's condition, we consider all treatment modalities, and in many cases will pursue a multi-modality approach which may include one or more of the following:
- chemotherapy
- radiation therapy
- hormonal therapy
- immunotherapy
- pain management and palliative care
- hospice care
appointments
appointments can be made during regular office hours from the referring physicians' office or directly by the patient, depending on the procedures of the patients' insurance company. our office makes every attempt to schedule appointments as quickly as possible and in a manner convenient for the patient.
we are committed to serving the needs of our community. to assure that all members of our community receive the care they need, it is our policy to provide services for both the uninsured and the underinsured.

billing and insurances
we accept all major insurance and have agreements with most managed care organizations. billing and co-pay policies will vary from payer to payer. our administrative office has a complete internal billing department available to assist patients and referring offices in payment and insurance matters.
